Opinion Editorial Cartoons Op-Ed Editorials Letters to the Editor

Thank you, but why did you wait so long?

I am writing in regard to the editorial “Silencing journalists in Gaza silences the world,” (Herald, Aug. 31). As a second generation Palestinian who’s father’s family had to leave Haifa, Palestine in 1948 when my dad was 11 or potentially face being murdered by Zionist terrorists, I applaud your editorial and I have a few questions and comments.

1 – Why wait 22+ months until 270 journalist have been targeted and murdered by Israel?

2 – Why wait 22+ months until more than 60,000 people, mostly civilians and children, have been targeted and murdered by Israel?

3 – Why wait 22+ months until nearly every hospital and school in Gaza has been targeted and destroyed by Israel?

4 – Why wait 22+ months until hundreds of thousands, mostly civilians and children, are on verge of being forcibly starved to death by Israel?

5 – For nearly 22+ months, every Sunday a peace rally is held across the street from your business office. Why did it take this long for the paper to comment?

That being said, thank you for your support and welcome to the good fight. Better late than never. Never again means never again – for everyone.
