In today’s busy world, there’s a tendency to use the phrase “thank you” almost as an afterthought. This past weekend was Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado’s, Bowl for Kids Sake. The event was incredibly successful because of the participation, sponsorship and volunteerism of many in our community.
As the director of the organization, that day and since, I have been assembling a list all of the people I need to thank, for helping support the children Big Brothers Big Sisters serves. The list is extensive, from committee volunteers, to sponsors, team participants, merchants, banks, real estate, attorneys, CPA’s, media outlets and service businesses, as well as our staff and board members.
These individuals and entities volunteer their time, and in many cases, their financial support, to change the life of a child for the better, forever! They say it takes a village to raise a child. I just wanted to say that this village is doing an exemplary job making certain more than 100 kids in La Plata and Archuleta counties have an opportunity to realize their potential.
Thank you all, for bowling for a kid’s sake.
Paul Plvan, executive director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado
