Thank you from Durango Public Library Advisory Board

The Durango Public Library’s Advisory Board extends a well-deserved note of gratitude to two extraordinary people who have provided valuable input and liaison to the LAB for a number of years. Both are now leaving their liaison roles on the board and will be missed.

Sweetie Marbury, as a city councilor, has been City Council liaison to the LAB for seven years, providing updates on city policies and helping apprise the city of library activities. Throughout her role as city liaison to our board, she was highly engaged and invaluable in understanding how the LAB could further the interests of library patrons.

Maile Kane, until only recently president of the Friends of the Library, was the FOL liaison to our board for three years. She helped maintain a smooth and complementary working relationship between the two boards. Ms. Kane remains on the FOL board as vice president and chair of volunteers.

The Library Advisory Board thanks both women for their valuable contributions to our library, our board, and our community.
