Thank you from the Women’s Resource Center

The Women’s Resource Center would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time, materials and other resources to make our Get Your Girl Power event possible this year.

As a result of the efforts of our partners, donors, facilitators and volunteers, eighth grade girls at Bayfield Intermediate School were able to participate in interactive, engaging and self-motivating workshops, where they explored topics around healthy relationships, positive self-image, advocacy, cyberbullying and healthy eating habits.

The purpose of the event is to provide the appropriate tools, skills and support for students to make healthy choices, to stay in school and to ease their transition into middle school.

We are filled with gratitude for the ongoing support of our partners, donors and volunteers for their cooperation, coordination and support: Rob Stafford and Bayfield Intermediate School; Megan Aus, Katherine McKnight and Durango Motor Co.; Sheri Coy, Tressa Jukes and Girl Scouts of Colorado; Ann Morse and Manna Soup Kitchen; Veronica Flores, Keely Bachrodt and Sexual Assault Services Organization; Women’s Resource Center volunteers Jamie Wright and Alexi Stankiewicz; town of Bayfield; Aline Bank.

Many thanks from your team at the Women’s Resource Center.
