The Womenade Council would like to extend sincere thanks to our donors whose generosity provided one-time emergency financial grants to 10 women at our November fundraiser. The funds collected at the event, as well as mail-in donations, helped community members with rent, car repairs, medical bills, tires and eyeglasses.
As a grassroots organization, Womenade holds fundraisers six times a year in order to help individuals who are self-sufficient and are experiencing an unexpected financial hardship. In 2019, Womenade has granted over $17,000 to La Plata County residents.
We also want to thank Diane Wildfang, Kirk Komick and the staff of the Rochester for their continued support of Womenade. Our thanks also to the Women’s Resource Center’s staff and volunteers for assisting us with the first steps in the process of Womenade.
Our first Womenade fundraiser in 2020 will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Rochester Hotel. We hope you can join us for this “Evening Out with a Purpose” where donors are able to decide which individuals presented will receive the funds collected.
