Warmest holiday thanks to the many people and businesses that made Stillwater Music’s eighth annual Winter Wonder Bands gala concert and fundraiser a big success.
Hundreds of people gathered at the Henry Strater Theatre on Dec. 16 to hear 80 students in 12 different Stillwater youth ensembles perform everything from pop, rock and funk to blues, folk and classical music.
We want to thank the Henry Strater Theatre for a wonderful venue; Stella Dickson, Bailey Barnes-Fagg, Anne Bartlett, Nancy Shanks, Lissa Howe, Daisy Dickson and all the volunteers for making everything run smoothly; Shari Gottlieb for photographing; the kids and instructors for playing top-notch music and all the parents for their ongoing support; everyone who came to see the kids perform and who purchased local goods and services at the silent auction to benefit Stillwater’s after-school youth program; and silent auction donors KDUR Community Radio, SBG Productions, Music in the Mountains, Natural Grocers, Durango Motor Co., Colorado Restrung Jewelry, Kovered in Paint & Glue, Powerhouse Science Center, Pet Haus, Jimmy’s Music & Supply, Star Liquors, Worldpay, April’s Garden, Purgatory Resort, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, city of Durango, City Market, Four Corners Riversports, Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Discount Liquors, Palace Restaurant, Ken & Sue’s, Out of the Blue/Halfway to Heaven, Trimble Hot Springs, PJ’s Gourmet Market, the Strater Hotel/Mahogany Grill, Artesano’s, The Rochester Hotel, Conundrum Escape Rooms, Create Art & Tea, Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College, Urban Market, Eolus, Maria’s Bookshop, San Juan Symphony and the Hillcrest Golf Club Durango.
