Once again, community members of La Plata County participated in the eighth annual Diversity Dialogue and showed their commitment to sustain the conversation about what we think we know about other people and ourselves. The dialogue was coordinated by the Embracing Diversity Initiative, a youth-adult partnership that facilitates diversity workshops to promote inter-cultural understanding and growth in people and organizations.
Thank you to Durango Community Relations Commission, this year’s sponsor, and Sodexo for providing lunch. We thank and appreciate the support of the Prejudice Elimination Action Team at Durango High School, Common Ground and El Centro de Muchos Colores at Fort Lewis College, Celebrating Healthy Communities Coalition, and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango.
Thank you to all the participants for the high level of engagement, adherence to dialogue protocols and the willingness to share their powerful and moving stories throughout the day.
See you next year!

The Womenade Council of La Plata County would like to thank the Women’s Resource Center, Kirk Komick, Diane Wildfang and the staff at the Rochester Hotel for their unending support of Womenade.
We also sincerely thank the donors to Womenade who made it possible to provide monetary grants to all applicants at our March event. Their support helps those who experience unforeseen financial hardship. Without the support, many would experience a downward spiral difficult to overcome.

Many, many thanks to all who supported us and lifted us up during a horrific time in our lives.
We will be forever grateful for each visit, card, wish of healing and especially each prayer. God is so good and he has blessed us with so much. We are humbled by the outpouring of love all around us as we take this journey back to health and well-being.
Thank you for being part of our lives.
