Pine River Library thanks the community for helping make the third annual Zucchini Extravaganza a success again this year. Like every year, we couldn’t have done it without the help of our partner for the event, Pine River Garden Club. The Friends of the Library group was also integral and provided refreshments and free books. Thank you: Agave, the band that provided the tunes that were perfect for a sunny Sunday afternoon, and Pine River Shares for running a food drive at the event. Chef Neal Drysdale from the Strater Hotel fixed up delicious food for all, and generously donated his fee to the nonprofit Cooking Matters, also on hand at the event to share its important message about healthy eating. The town of Bayfield generously delivered us tables and chairs. And of course, thanks to all of you who came to the event, in particular those who brought dishes for the community potluck and entered their special zucchini in contests.

The Rau family would like to show our appreciation and gratitude for all the support we have received during this difficult time in our lives.
As was stated in the paper, our son Jamie Lee was diagnosed with stage four neuroendocrine cancer. Since his diagnosis, our community, family and friends have been instrumental in bringing Jamie back home and in his continuing care with some fun memories for us all.
Some of the folks we would like to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, are: Lindsay Lubrant of the Glacier Club, Glacier Club members and employees, Purgatory Resort, CJ’s Diner owner Jerry Martinez, The River Church, Durango Motor Co., Kids Rock, Mercy Regional Medical Center Home Care, The Durango Herald, and the friends and family who have been there for us in many different ways. And, last but not least, thank you to Chris Wiman of Mountain Motion Media and all the folks who brought their gorgeous cars to the Glacier Club for Jaime Lee, to give him the thrill of a lifetime.
