Durango Friends of the Arts would like to send a special thank you to

Without these announcements, our events would not be as successful. Please join us in thanking The Durango Herald for helping us achieve our goals each year and for helping all the worthwhile nonprofit, all-volunteer groups in our amazing city. We are so grateful for all you do.

Durango veterans thank DHS Demons

At the end of another successful season for the Durango Football team, the American Legion Post No. 28 and VFW Post No. 4031 Color Guard wishes to thank the Demons for honoring our veterans at every home game.

At the close of our National Anthem, as the veterans march off the field, the Demons form two columns, which the veterans exit between. The team members express their gratitude and respect for the veterans by saying “thank you” and “thank you for your service.” Several vets have quietly waited for over 50 years to hear this expression. The women veterans often have tears in their eyes as we march past the players.

To Coach Vogt, his staff and the entire DHS Football team, again, please accept our sincere appreciation for a job well done.

Bruce Heller, Color Guard coordinator
