Manna thanks fundraiser supporters

Manna held its annual “Bread for Manna” fundraiser last month. Like many nonprofits, Manna is supported by grant funding, donations and fundraisers, such as “Bread for Manna” and “No-Go Gala.” The support from Durango merchants, businesses and entrepreneurs is overwhelming, and this letter sincerely thanks them all. Support continues even during years when budgets are slim and business is slow.

Florida Mesa thankful for successful fundraiser

Florida Mesa Elementary School would like to thank everyone who came out for the first annual Trick-or-Treat Bash. It was great to see everyone in their creative costumes. All money earned will go toward the school’s shade pavilion.

Blueprints of Hope thankful for donations

Blueprints of Hope would like to thank The Durango Vault, Donnis Dolso, Jessika Buell; and the spirited, fun, compassionate and hardworking group that donated to, competed in and raised funds for the organization, and a client in need, at the “Pushing for a Cure” event.

We also show gratitude to the local individuals and businesses that contributed prizes; what a phenomenal community of caring humans. In the world of cancer-risk prevention, studies show that 30 minutes of daily exercise guards against many types of cancer. The Durango Vault membership shows that commitment. On behalf of Blueprint of Hope, we thank the community for the trust and confidence.

Botanical Society grateful for successful bulb sale

Durango Botanical Society thanks the community for making the seventh annual bulb sale a success. The dedication to buying and planting bulbs ensures gardens in the community look bright in the spring.

We will make changes to next year’s sale, such as finding a larger venue to support the continued increase in available bulbs, more deer- and rodent-resistant bulbs, and more cashiers to speed up the checkout process. Thanks to Mike Smedley for educating and entertaining us and the volunteers who made sure the bulbs were healthy and professionally packaged.

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser go to Durango Botanic Gardens.
