Here in Durango, we rely heavily on our local hospitals. The local expertise of the hospitals and personal attention that keeps our residents from having to travel miles in any direction is an asset to our county. We rely on hospitals for important and specialized services that we might not otherwise have, and that was only made clearer during the coronavirus pandemic.
Our hospitals help to keep workforces strong and healthy by providing preventive care and annual check-ups, and they house state-of-the-art equipment to help with the diagnosis that any loved one may need. The doctors, nurses and other staff members at hospitals are dedicated to supporting public health for our large and diverse community.
It is comforting that we have medical professionals close to us who provide the best care when needed. With critical hospital facilities and their attentive staff, rural health is supported in all ways. Our hospitals keep all families healthy no matter the situation.
During this new virus surge, I just want to say thank you for your service Mercy Regional Hospital and Animas Surgical Hospital, and a special thank you to all of your employees.
