We were vacationing in our recreational vehicle when the Lightner Creek Fire broke out. We stayed one night at the evacuation center set up by the Red Cross.
We want to give our thanks to the Red Cross, the Humane Society, the restaurants and residents who sent food and supplies to the center, the Econo Lodge, Lightner Creek Campground, Walmart and the county commissioners. A very warm thanks also to the lady who gave us a ride back to our RV to rescue our dogs.
Even though it was a very frightening time, we didn’t feel alone. The people and businesses in your city showed genuine concern and compassion. We can look back at this event and remember it with warm thoughts of their kindness and generosity.
