I have been grumbling for almost 20 years, since moving from Denver to Durango. What? No Colorado TV here?
I missed hearing weather reports and political news, and the fact that the Bronco broadcasts were not always available was terrible.
This led me to write my first letter to the editor, after not being able to see a critical Broncos Thanksgiving Day broadcast and having to settle on watching Dallas … horrors!
I was placated when we finally got Denver news on the local channel, three times a day, but I still felt Durango was an orphaned TV town.
So, I want to thank all the people (including Sen. Ellen Roberts) who patiently lobbied for changing from Albuquerque mayhem reports to Denver mayhem reports (at least I know those Denver neighborhoods), and also I enjoy Kathy Saben’s weather segment. Just ask her to quit standing in front of the Durango map as she points to weather for Telluride and Grand Junction.
