Thanks to the hardworking team at SASO

I’d like to take a moment to thank all of the hardworking staff members and volunteers at our local Sexual Assault Services Organization.

Every year, but especially this year, they have been tasked with the incredible task of meeting the needs of survivors, victims and all of the loved ones who support them, and they have performed this incredible work in the midst of a pandemic. When all nonprofit organizations have felt the financial crunch of the times, SASO has also felt it, but with the added responsibility of meeting the most important needs a community and has done so with the utmost professionalism and quality of service one can provide.

Executive Director Laura Latimer has transitioned into her new role seamlessly and continues to move the organization forward to provide care, support, advocacy and education to our region.

Finally, a huge thank you to all of SASO’s volunteers. Without them, the organization could not and would not be able to function. They work tirelessly and give selflessly for the good of the community, and I personally thank each of them as they do so without such expectation.

Please keep organizations such as SASO in your thoughts when giving and donating this holiday season. Your donations go a long way to support victims and survivors of sexual violence.

For more information about how to give, please reach out to SASO directly at www.durangosaso.org or call (970) 259-3074.

Thank you, SASO team!
