“I think it’s a fun experience for them to come to a camp like this and say ‘OK, I’m going to build this machine,’” said Mark Rosenberg, left. Rosenberg showed Riverview Elementary School second-grader Jimmy Cooper and a dozen or so other kids how to make their own pinball machine Wednesday at the school. The project was part of Camp Invention, a weeklong science camp for kids in first through sixth grade. Jill Stone, the camp director, said 86 kids from Durango, Bayfield, Mancos and as far away as Arizona are attending. Jimmy is the son of Colleen and James Cooper.
