The ACLU is hardly the nonpartisan organization it purports to be. Today it is strictly a partisan political organization protecting only the constitutional rights it likes.
Doesn’t fairness dictate that all constitutionally protected minorities are equally worthy of its protections? Apparently not. While all other rights in the Constitution are read expansively, the ACLU advocates restrictions on the Second Amendment and will never spend a penny to protect those rights.
The Constitution bestows rights to citizens, not responsibilities, but if the drafters had anticipated that a group of people would have no greater aspirations in life than to live like animals, good-citizen responsibilities would have been included.
As for the Herald, one would think that in this age of so much fake news, journalists would be extra careful to accurately report the news. Time and time again this newspaper (mis)represented that a Ninth Circuit court opinion was the law in Colorado. Colorado is not in the Ninth Circuit. I do not think the principles of court jurisdiction are too challenging for the Herald reporters. Those principles are well explained in Wikipedia.
