The ‘Big Lie’ needs to be put to rest

Am I the only one delighted in seeing Mike Sigman eat his words?

Yes indeed, sedition is a charge now levied against one Stuart Rhodes, a graduate of Yale Law, along with 10 others. There will be more, without a doubt. And indeed, there appears to be a conspiracy to keep the Congress from its appointed duty to certify the results of the Electoral College. From the outside looking in, that conspiracy appears to go all the way to the office of the president. It is also clear, looking from the same vantage point, that many members of Congress were actively engaged in the conspiracy, including our own congressperson.

The “Big Lie” needs to be put to rest, and the only way to excise it from the body politic is to charge all of those involved with sedition, and if they were holding any office, for them to be removed and be subject to the 14th Amendment and never be allowed to hold a position of public trust again.

Trust in our institutions demands that those responsible face the music and be held accountable. Our elections are honest and the results are reliable. Audits have verified this. Those who say otherwise do so with the intent of undermining the processes we know to be sound, promoting the “Big Lie.”

The sooner those who fomented the insurrection on Jan. 6, 2020, are held accountable, the sooner our nation can begin to overcome the “stench” of the Trumpists.
