Durango Fire

Firefighters and medics responded to 33 calls Thursday through Sunday, including one elevator rescue in the 21600 block of U.S. Highway 160 in west Durango, two traffic accidents, three people who fell down and four fire alarms.

8:02 a.m. A woman was singing Christmas carols on the south side of the Best Western Rio Grande Inn, 400 East Second Ave.

7:23 p.m. Someone lost sight of a man paragliding near Santa Rita Park, and the caller was concerned the man crashed.

10:57 p.m. A man pulled a gun on a customer at south City Market, 6 Town Plaza.

Saturday

3:21 a.m. A man entered a woman’s house in the 1200 block of East Fourth Avenue.

2:03 p.m. Someone was throwing water balloons at passers-by in the 900 block of Main Avenue.

9:39 p.m. A woman reported being assaulted at Iris Park, 1235 Camino del Rio. Police were investigating it as a sexual offense and made an arrest.

Friday

1:33 p.m. Someone in a black truck dropped a couch on the side of the road with a free sign on it near County Road 151 and Holly Avenue.
