4 a.m. A large bear was in a dumpster at the Sunridge Townhomes, 1800 Florida Road.

5:48 a.m. Several people were sleeping on the roof at Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage, 1123 Camino del Rio.

Sunday

4:29 a.m. A woman was screaming into a microphone for about two hours in the 600 block of Arroyo Drive.

5:13 p.m. Someone reported tools stolen from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Main Avenue on Friday.

11:37 p.m. A bear was in the Westside Mobile Home Park, 21113 U.S. Highway 160, in west Durango.

Saturday

3:06 a.m. Two drunken men were playing catch and hitting cars with a football near Ninth Street and East Fifth Avenue.

2:12 p.m. A red Jeep hit another vehicle without stopping in the Star Liquor parking lot, 1485 Florida Road. Police issued a citation or made an arrest.

2:40 p.m. Two women were fighting at Schneider Park, 950 Roosa Avenue. Police made at least one arrest.

7:48 p.m. Someone in a blue Jeep Cherokee had a newborn baby with no car seat, according to a report at Durango Sports Club, 1600 Florida Road.

9:14 p.m. A drunken 38-year-old man fell off his bike and possibly suffered a broken ankle near Eight Street and East Second Avenue.

Friday

9:45 a.m. A small fire started near the train tracks in the 3300 block of East Third Avenue.

4:42 p.m. A vehicle drove through a chain-link fence, almost hit other vehicles and had a flat tire at north City Market, 3130 Main Ave.

9:14 p.m. Six juveniles were sleeping on the roof at First United Methodist Church, 2917 Aspen Drive.

11:47 p.m. A drunken man lay in the road in the east 300 block of 13th Street.

11:52 p.m. Someone in a large red pickup was driving around a neighborhood yelling threats out the window in the 900 block of East Fourth Avenue.

Firefighters and medics responded to 78 calls Thursday through Sunday, including two fuel spills, an odor of gas, three reports of smoke outside, three traffic crashes and a water rescue on the La Plata River.
