7:26 a.m. Someone requested assistance with a bear in a tree near the tennis courts at Needham Elementary School, 2425 West Third Ave.
7:29 a.m. A raccoon was hit by a car and killed, and someone moved the dead animal, in the 1000 block of East Third Avenue.
8:42 a.m. An elderly man with a walker and grocery cart was in the street in front of St. Columba Catholic Church at 1830 East Second Ave.
3:33 p.m. A woman reported that a man was outside trying to get into her residence at 397 W. 23rd St.
7:35 p.m. An intoxicated man was sleeping in a flower bed at Park Avenue and West Third Avenue.
10:58 p.m. Seven homeless people with a cart filled with backpacks were drinking at Kroegers Ace Hardware, 8 Town Plaza.
Tuesday
1:32 a.m. Police received a report that involved a welfare check on a 10-month-old child and a possible methamphetamine user in the 600 block of Arroyo Drive.
2:48 a.m. A bear was in a dumpster at 1330 Florida Road. The report included that the same thing happens almost every night, but the bear was crying on this occasion.
4:20 a.m. Someone reported that a bear, possibly injured, was in the 1400 block of Florida Road. Multiple people in the area heard the animal screaming.
6:58 a.m. A homeless man was sleeping in the second-floor hallway of the building formerly occupied by Radio Shack, 1020 Main Ave.

11:52 a.m. A tractor driving 10 mph in the 9000 block of U.S. Highway 550 was causing a hazard.
1:32 p.m. A man called about his cow being hit by a car at Sunnyside Elementary School, 75 County Road 218.
4:47 p.m. Someone reported that 40 to 50 cows were in the roadway at County Road 510 and Valley Trail.
6:30 p.m. A cow was in the roadway at County Road 510 and County Road 222.
6:35 p.m. A man in a wheelchair was passed out on the side of the road at Elmore’s Corner Store, 50 County Road 234.
6:40 p.m. A bear was in a residence at 2539 County Road 203.
7:06 p.m. A cow was in the roadway at County Road 221 and Horizon Drive.
Saturday
1:08 a.m. Someone reported that a bear was in the area near 700 Fox Farm Circle, and a man with a shotgun was across the street looking for it.
5:40 p.m. Someone reported a firearm discharge from the Sailing Hawks area, at 2634 County Road 204.
10:39 p.m. Someone reported that trespassers were trying to take their children from the property at 94 Sunset Circle.

3:01 a.m. Someone needed assistance getting rid of a bear that wouldn’t leave at 1702 County Road 205.
5:55 a.m. A firearm was found in the X-ray of the security checkpoint at Durango-La Plata County Airport, 1000 Airport Road.
8:10 a.m. Someone reported that a man was living in a storage unit at East Animas Mini Storage, 160 County Road 250.
9:13 a.m. A man reported hearing gunshots all night, possibly from a shotgun or automatic firearm, at 3575 County Road 213.
10:12 p.m. Someone was driving a vehicle through a field in the 1300 block of County Road 314.
Monday
11:02 a.m. An employee at Five Branches Campground, 4677 County Road 501A, reportedly found drugs in a cabin.
2:29 p.m. A small gray sedan hit some mailboxes, and was speeding up and slowing down, on County Road 234 and County Road 236.
7:18 p.m. A man was reported to be trespassing, harassing and attempting to enter someone’s RV at 8506 County Road 213.
