The Community Foundation will host a discussion about cyberbullying at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College and at noon Wednesday at the Henry Strater Theatre.
The Making a Difference event will feature a special appearance by Monica Lewinsky, noted anti-bullying activist and Vanity Fair contributing editor. Lewinsky will address the online culture of humiliation, offer advice about how to overcome bullying and draw from personal experience.
She will be joined by a panel of local experts who will talk about our community’s efforts to create culture change focused on resilience, as well as increasing social connectedness around mental health and suicide.

Rowan Blaisdell, psychotherapist and co-founder of the Rainbow Youth Center.Sean Hembree, Durango High School counselor.Liane Jollon, executive director of the San Juan Basin Health Department.Rhonda Ledford, founder of the CODY Project, after experiencing the loss of a child to suicide.Leonard Martinez, 9-R school resource police officer. Matisse Monty, FLC graduating senior and active member of WellPAC.The panel of local experts will share resources and efforts related to important mental health issues in our region, and there will be time for questions from the audience.

This event will be a limited-seating luncheon with a storytelling focus. Lewinsky will be joined by locals who will share their struggles with overcoming bullying.
