“Despot; tyrant – person who holds absolute power, typically in a cruel or oppressive way.” (Wikipedia)
This definition encapsulates Mr. Trump’s goals. To him, working for the “good of the people” applies only to those worth millions of dollars and/or those who offer him unquestioned loyalty. The concept is otherwise alien to him, as is the truth.
All the examples of cruelty generated by him could not fit into my allotted space in this letter, but here’s a start:
Using our armed forces, at great cost, to blow up “suspected Venezuelan drug boats” in international waters without revealing or explaining supporting facts. We now know that, per illegal orders, survivors of those attacks are being murdered.
Randomly detaining and arresting brown and Black people – suspected of what, exactly? – using the “brown shirts” (ICE) under the supervision of neo-Nazi Stephen Miller, the progeny of Jewish ancestors who fled Hitler’s conquest of Europe.
His forces kicking in doors of homes and raiding public and privately owned businesses to arrest “the others,” including vast numbers of noncriminals, many of whom are legally here, and never admitting when they were wrong.
Separating mothers from their children solely to inflict pain and show “how powerful we are.”
On and on these actions go, for self-gratification and to please the Dear Leader.
MAGAs – has he really improved your life and the lives of your loved ones? (Mr. Trump says, “Who?”)
Be truthful with yourself. You may be the next “other.” Only the despot knows.
