Recently, I have been in mild to moderate pain with neck and back trouble. I was able to work and function with numbness and tingling in my arms along with intermittent muscle weakness. I heard about a chiropractor who took xrays and was reputable, so I decided to give it a go.
Before my first adjustment, I spoke with the chiropractor and believed he could help me. He said that after three weeks of adjustments I should be back to normal. He said he could even tell that I had long COVID by checking some pressure points and that after my nervous system is aligned, the long COVID symptoms could disappear.
I decided to have my first adjustment. Before my second adjustment, I told him I was extra stiff and didn't think I should get another until I felt better. He assured me that pain was normal and talked me into it. After that, the stiffness in my neck and back got much worse. I saw him again and he wanted to modify the adjustment. I told him no and he said it will stay that way if I didn't do anything about it.
How could I risk letting him adjust me again? Since then, I have had a CT scan, more prescriptions and am in so much pain. I am allergic to anti-inflammatory drugs except for steroids. I'm terrified this new nerve pain will not go away without another adjustment. I wish I was informed of the risks beforehand.
