Seconds melted off the times of Durango Swim Club athletes Nov. 3-5 at the University of New Mexico Lobo Holiday Classic.
Haley Benjamin, 13, won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11 minutes, 17.93 seconds and placed second in the 500-yard and 1,650-yard freestyle at 5:27.69 and 19:04.23, respectively.
Ruth Holcomb, 10, placed seventh in the 50-yard and 100-yard backstroke, fourth in the 50-yard butterfly and third in the 100-yard butterfly.
Her younger sister Maggie, 8, placed fourth in the 50-yard backstroke and breaststroke and third in the 100-yard backstroke.
Brooke Kniffin, 17, placed second in the 100 backstroke at 1:01.83, fourth in the 200 backstroke at 2:18 and fifth in the 100 freestyle at 56.57.
Elli Earl, 15, finished 56th in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:03.33, 65th in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:19.59, 19th in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 13:04.17 and 20th in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:54.78.
Bryn Joyner, 16, placed 54th in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:17.52, 32nd in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:00.38, 60th in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:14.43, and 40th in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:22.46.
All of those swims for Earl and Joyner resulted in personal-best times.
Steevie Delio, 12, came in 14th place in the 200-yard butterfly in 3:02.59 in the first time she ever swam the event.
Claire Larson, 14, finished 76th in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:50.23 and 95th in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:08.39, dropping time in both events.
