To our readers,
In the past few weeks, we launched a new way for our loyal readers to support local news, and we realize you might have questions.
A new endeavor for us, The Durango Herald’s membership program, is part of an exciting opportunity we’ve been given in coordination with the Colorado Media Project. We are one of five news organizations across the state selected to test memberships as a method to support journalism and journalists.
The program is designed to give readers an opportunity to champion local news. If you become a member, you will be rewarded with perks from us, local businesses and two of the news partners, The (Grand Junction) Daily Sentinel and The Colorado Sun.
Membership begins at just $50.
We are often asked, “What’s a member?” Members are community stakeholders who want to support local journalism financially. Members receive a package of goods from the Herald based on the membership level, but the real reward comes from keeping local news thriving and supporting a sustainable future for local journalism.
Join our 20 inaugural supporters and be a champion of local news.
Become a member at www.durangoherald.com/beamember or call 375-4530.
Thank you for your support.
