According to New York Giants’ head coach Tom Coughlin, his running back David Wilson is “a marked man.”
Wilson fumbled twice in a Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys at home, then was benched.
Coughlin said Wilson will get another chance because “we need him,” but he’s not likely to extend him a third.
“He has to overcome this issue,” Couglin said. “He’s a marked man.”
The Denver Broncos are salivating – too bad Von Miller does drugs and is busy getting arrested, cited and suspended because he’d have a field day Sunday night at The Meadowlands.
Let’s not confuse David Wilson with James Wilson, however. The latter is from Durango and won the Week 1 Gridiron Green – $30 in Durango Dollars to be exact. He picked 13 out of 16 correct, and ironically enough, he won the tiebreaker by picking the ’Boys over the Giants in a 33-27 victory. (Dallas won 36-31).
I’m trying to rebound from my opening-day 8-8, or half of what our national Gridiron Green champion, MH Rowlett from Bristol, Tenn., managed Week 1 after yet another long offseason.

N.Y. Jets at New England (NFL Network) – Much to everybody’s surprise, especially head coach Rex Ryan, Geno Smith pilfered a victory over the Bucs in Week 1. To nobody’s surprise, Danny Amendola played well in his new Wes Welker role, then got hurt. Who’s left for Brady to throw to? Pick: Jets, 23-10. Line: Patriots by 12.
Sunday, Sept. 15
Dallas at Kansas City (KASA) – The Chiefs turn Chefs when they pick on somebody their own size. Pick: Cowboys, 21-20. Line: Chiefs by 2½.
Tennessee at Houston – Foster? Tate? Chris Johnson. Pick: Titans, 24-17. Line: Texans by 9.
Washington at Green Bay – RGIII and the Redskins are no “Kaep-Niners.” Pick: Packers, 30-24. Line: Packers by 7½.
Minnesota at Chicago – Here’s something to Ponder while the Vikings look for a QB1 to go with their RB1. Pick: Bears, 24-23. Line: Bears by 6½.
St. Louis at Atlanta – Steven Jackson, meet the Rams. Rams, meet Steven Jackson. Pick: Falcons, 30-19. Line: Falcons by 7.
