The Republican Party has lost its way

My main reason for this letter is the utter shock and disbelief that the Republican National Committee has sunk to such a level as to call the insurrection on Jan. 6 legitimate political discourse. What's next? Sept. 11 was just political discourse between two countries?

They have the nerve to censure two Republicans, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for doing their jobs, for having the guts, the integrity to stand up for what they believe while in office. They actually believe in people over politics/party. Newt is now suggesting those on the committee be arrested! Shame on you if you’re a Republican who supports any of this.

What has happened to the Grand Ol' Party? What happened to their values? The GOP is nothing but a political version of the Jerry Springer show where truth doesn’t matter, just give the people a good show, pander to the lowest common denominator.

Initially, I had wanted to write about Lauren Boebert’s comments regarding her frustration with the lack of bipartisanship in Congress. Her posts on Twitter show nothing but hatred for the Democratic Party. I can’t believe she’s shocked no one across the aisle wants to work with her. I have to add that it’s disturbing to have someone representing our district that apparently can’t stand half of her constituents.

Where are some decent Republicans who still believe in what the party once stood for and who will work for the good of the people and America?
