Mike Rust film to be shown at ACTWith the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic going on this weekend, this will be a great time to head down to Animas City Theatre, 128 E. College Dr., and check out the film “The Rider & The Wolf,” a cool film that is also a benefit for the Trees are the Answer program at Needham Elementary School.

“The Rider and the Wolf” is a documentary about the life and mysterious disappearance of Mountain Bike Hall of Fame cyclist Mike Rust. He helped form the sport of mountain biking in the U.S. before going missing without a trace in 2009 in a remote part of Colorado. The mystery remains.

The ACT will be showing the film four times – 6 and 8 p.m. – Saturday and Sunday. This is a 16 years and older event.

Tickets are $10 and are available at Maria’s Bookshop, Durango Cyclery, Mountain Bike Specialists, San Juan Cycles and at the ACT box office (night of show only).

Telluride band bringing the reggaeTelluride roots reggae band Niceness will be spreading its positive vibration Saturday at the Balcony, 600 Main Ave.

Band members are Koral Delatierra on vocals, Tom Mann on bass, Michael Gomberg on drums, David Christeson on the keys, Dustin Wilson on guitar, Jonathan Barfield on percussion and Jeff Guiterrez on saxaphone, Niceness blends a mix of soulful reggae, dancehall, latin, hip-hop and funk.

The show will start at 9:30, and the cover is $5.
