Things to do in and around Durango

Dolores River FestivalMake the ride over to Dolores on Saturday for the 13th annual Dolores River Festival.

Featuring a full day of raft rides, a river parade, food and drinks, things for the kiddos to do and live music – lots of live music. Bands scheduled to play are: Honey Island Swamp Band, The Workshy, Niceness, Sky Pilot, Farmington Hill, Last Nickel, Wake Up Laughing, Cold Chicken, Snyder Fish, Hui Aloha and Fellowship of the Strings.

Gates will open at 10 a.m. at Joe Rowell Park.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Kids 12 and younger get in free.

With Durango Barbershoppers, it’s all about romanceGet ready for “A Night of Romance” as the Durango Barbershoppers present their 48th annual Durango Barbershop Show in Bayfield on Friday night and in Durango on Saturday night.

Both shows will begin at 7:01 p.m. sharp. Friday’s show in Bayfield will be held at the Performing Arts Center, and Saturday’s Durango show will be at the Durango High School Auditorium.

The local barbershop chorus, along with local quartets, will perform old favorites and new hits all about romance. They’ll also be joined by guest quartet Blue Steele.

Tickets are $15 for Adults $10 for Students and Seniors.
