Voodoo Glow Skulls, Oatie Paste hit Animas City TheatreLegendary ska/punk band Voodoo Glow Skulls are coming back to Durango on Saturday night – and they’re bringing Oatie Paste with them.
The Voodoo Glow Skulls formed in 1988 in California, where they started playing at backyard parties. They’ve since shared the stage with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Angry Samoans, Firehose, Murphy’s Law and The Dickies.
Oatie Paste got their start in 2007 in Durango and are currently touring to support their new album, “Ten Seconds Till Sunday.”
Doors will open at 8 p.m. Saturday, and the show will start at 9.

La La Bones CD release partyWith the Bluegrass Meltdown going on this weekend, there’s going to be more live music in Durango than you can shake a stick at. There’s also going to be a cause for celebration as local five-piece bluegrass band La La Bones releases their first album, “La La Bones.” Join the band Friday night at the Balcony Backstage, 600 Main Ave., for their CD release party.
Band members Tommy Frederico on banjo; Jimi Giles on bass; Kathy Hilimire on fiddle; Deb Moses on dobro; Scott Roberts on mandolin; and Kyle Siesser on guitar will also be performing throughout the weekend at the Meltdown – Friday at the Henry Strater Theatre and Saturday at the Durango Arts Center.
