Four Corners Vinyl record Club hosts show at La Plata County Fairgrounds

The Four Corners Vinyl Record Club is getting even bigger this time around: Check out its latest Record Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.

Vendors will be on hand, and buying, selling and trading albums is the name of the game.

Reports in October that vinyl sales had dropped 33% were quickly proved wrong, and in fact, sales are actually up 6.2%, according to an article by Sam Tornow and Nicole Raney in Discogs. But, really, that data is largely irrelevant to those who collect records – at least to this collector who not only enjoys the tactile element, but loves the cover art, the lyrics and the other good stuff on the liners and, perhaps this is too much sharing, but giving an album cover a good sniff (the older the album, the better the smell, I’ve found) ... but we digress.

So Saturday, prepare to spend hours hunting through crates for your personal vinyl holy grail. And because that can be thirsty work, Ska will sell beer.

And remember: It’s not hoarding if it’s vinyl.
