Durango’s Maggie Yount was the first woman to the finish line Saturday at the Thirsty 13 half marathon in Durango. Yount had the fifth-best time overall and was less than six minutes behind men’s winner Neil McDonagh. Colorado Springs’ Emily Van Meter was the second-place woman in 1:28:14, and Durango’s Katie Hutcheson took third in the women’s field in 1:35:37.

Neil McDonagh of Colorado Springs cruised to victory Saturday at the Thirsty 13 half marathon in Durango. The 35-year-old finished in 1 hour, 15 minutes, 48 seconds to beat Denver’s Michael Bovee (1:19:09) and Daniel Crane (1:19:19) of Scottsdale, Arizona. Durango’s Galvin Morgan placed fourth. The 23-year-old crossed the line in 1:19:59. The annual race finished at Ska Brewing Co. and coincided with the San Juan Brewest, with runners getting free entry into the beer festival at Buckley Park.
