I am retired after 30+ years of being a law enforcement officer at the local, state and federal levels. Like most individuals in law enforcement, I tend to be somewhat conservative in my views. I used to be a Republican; I am now unaffiliated.
The current Republican Party under Trump’s chokehold has become unrecognizable to me. In this presidential election, all voters have the option to vote for removing Trump’s hold over this party. Hopefully, next time around, Trump will not be a factor in the election and a reasonable Republican nominee will emerge. Voting for Trump now will lead our country into absolute chaos.
He is constantly trying to divide our country.
She is promoting a positive vision for our country.
He always looks for a fight.
She always looks for common ground.
He doesn’t respect women and doesn’t believe women have the right to handle their own health care. (As a law enforcement officer, I saw too many examples of how miserable an unwanted child’s life can be.)
She fully supports women’s health care rights.
I wouldn’t trust him with my car much less my country (in particular the nuclear codes ...).
I do trust her to make good decisions for my country.
Please, this year mark the box next to Kamala Harris on your ballot so our country and the Republican Party have the chance to reset toward normality. Your vote belongs to you and you alone.
