Three Springs celebrating 10th anniversary tomorrow

Three Springs and Mercy Regional Medical Center will host their 10th anniversary party from 1 to 7 p.m. tomorrow in the Three Springs Plaza.

"Ten years ago, the perfect opportunity presented itself to create a whole new kind of neighborhood for the Durango area," said Tim Zink, real estate portfolio manager at Three Springs. "The Southern Ute Indian Tribe's generous donation of 60 acres to showcase the Mercy Regional Medical Center campus anchored what has become a vibrant Durango community, rich with a diversity of people and workers that is unique to our area."

According to Zink, Three Springs was the first neighborhood in Durango to author and enact a comprehensive sustainability plan, ensuring a course for environmentally conscious growth. "Three Springs is within arm's reach of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe's central core in Ignacio, and it's a source of pride for all who have had a hand in its progress over the last ten years."

Live music is scheduled all day, with Carute Roma playing from 1:30 to 2:30, the Afrobeatniks from 3 to 4:30, and Matt Hires of Nashville from 5 to 6:30.

Food will be available from Fired up Pizzeria, the Lemonade Man and others. KSUT will serve beer from Brew, Guy Drew wine and mixed cocktails from Durango Craft Spirits.

There will be children's activities and a Flight for Life helicopter appearance.

As part of the 10-year celebration, all children born at Mercy Regional Medical Center between 2006 and 2016 are invited to take the stage with Carute Roma at 2:30 p.m. to do the hokey pokey and receive a special gift. According to Mercy Regional Medical Center, nearly 1,000 babies are born each year at the hospital.

"Since relocating to Three Springs 10 years ago, Mercy has seen tremendous growth-in services, staff, technology, providers, and the number of patients from throughout the Four Corners region who have entrusted us with their care," said David Bruzzese, director of public relations and marketing at Mercy Regional Medical Center. "We attribute Mercy's growth not only to natural population change in the region, but also to our ability to recruit providers and staff who want to work in a beautiful, state-of-the-art hospital that has exceptional clinical capabilities and very high quality indicators. This neighborhood is an attractive home for Mercy and we are excited to celebrate the last 10 years with all of our Three Springs neighbors and the greater Durango community. Every day we are thankful that our dream of a new hospital became a reality in 2006."

General admission for the event is $10 for adulta, kids 10 and under enter for free.
