Tim Wheeler gets results on LPEA board

Over the last three years, our current La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) Board of Directors has achieved massive results.

They steered us through a CEO transition that positively transformed the culture at LPEA, producing a leaner organization with very solid financial results. They adopted strategic goals to reduce our climate footprint while maintaining lower rates than 70% of Colorado co-ops. They’re part of a community-wide effort to determine the best path forward for critical broadband infrastructure. Together with staff they embarked on a deep analysis of our energy supply options, searching for the best path forward to ensure all LPEA members will benefit from cleaner, local, more affordable energy.

Most recently, our LPEA board took action to save us millions of dollars. After pressure from LPEA, Tri-State – our current power supplier – announced a 4% rate decrease settlement at FERC (pending FERC approval) that will save millions for LPEA members. This settlement would not have happened without LPEA’s leadership, leadership that knows this 4% isn’t enough and is working to secure even further savings.

Tim Wheeler is involved all of the LPEA board’s best work. As our director, Tim has served on numerous committees and subsidiary boards. He invests deeply in market analysis, community involvement, and understanding the details to ensure he makes responsible decisions on the complex issues that affect our day-to-day lives.

Tim Wheeler gets results.

Around May 20, you’ll receive your LPEA election ballot in the mail. Vote Wheeler in District 4 to maintain LPEA’s momentum.
