The staff of the Pine River Times and Ballantine Communications hosted an open house on Aug. 24 for readers to stop by and see the new offices of the newspaper.
About 35 people enjoyed appetizers and desserts by Blissful Catering, and the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce provided a ribbon cutting to officially open the new location.
"She does so many amazing things for our community...she's everywhere," Chamber President Brenna Morlan said of Times editor Melanie Mazur before she cut the ribbon.
Mazur thanked Carole McWilliams, the longtime Times' reporter, for 30 years of award-winning local articles and photos for the paper. She also acknowledged Isaac Fleener of Bayfield Realty for providing a new home for the paper, which had been located downtown on Mill Street for about 20 years. The Times offices are now on the east side of the realty building at 823 County Road 501, across from Bayfield High School.
She also thanked the attendees and everyone who reads the Times.
