Your 2017 recap of Ignacio and Bayfield news was super! Reading about the great, the good, plus bad and sad of the Pine River Valley made my day. We were all reminded that the kids of this valley thrive and accomplish and our communities do too.
The region lost the pen of a great journalist in 2017 when Carole McWilliams was axed in favor of Ballantine Communications saving a few pennies. Fortunately, the Pine River Times is still here (courtesy of the same Ballantines) and is still a great little paper. Thanks, Melanie, for keeping your objective reporter hat on and doing it nearly all by yourself!
