We, the members of the Tiospaye Living Vision Five leadership team, humbly thank the community for the inspiring, overwhelming outpour of support shown during a benefit drive for Bayfield families in need.
Our 22-member LV5 leadership class conducted a food and clothing drive July 12, 15 and 16 for Pine River Shares, a local, community-run nonprofit. We went door-to-door in the community and set up collection stations at Albertsons, Walmart and both City Market locations to gather donations of nonperishable food items, clothing and cash.
In just two days, we collected 4,886 food items, 135 clothing items and raised $1,308.88 in cash donations.
Many families in the Bayfield and Durango area struggle with food insecurity on a daily basis. Thanks to the generosity shown by the community, they have new, much needed access to food and clothing.
The community support shown during the drive positively impacted hundreds of lives. We would not have been able to reach our goal in a single weekend without the support of local stores and community members, and our team is beyond grateful for the participation. Tiospaye LV5, Pine River Shares and the Bayfield community thank you!
