Rep. Scott Tipton doesn’t represent me, and I doubt that he represents you. His job, as a U.S. congressman, is to represent the will of the people, but he doesn’t do his job.
To be fair, he is not supposed to vote as each of us, individually, would like – that would be impossible – but he is supposed to listen to us and act in our collective best interests. He doesn’t.
Instead, he votes against our environment, against our livelihoods, against our health, safety and welfare, and against our rights.
To Tipton, most of us (especially those of us who don’t give him money) don’t even exist.
I have written to Tipton countless times to comment on legislative issues. The majority of these messages have been totally ignored – not even a canned acknowledgement of receipt. On the rare occasions that I’ve received a (canned) letter of “response,” it has consisted of unfathomable drivel about some unrelated issue. (Tipton’s aides apparently don’t do their jobs, either.)
How can we trust our representatives to represent us, if they refuse to acknowledge our existence?
Diane Mitsch Bush has a track record in the state Legislature of listening, learning and understanding all sides of issues, and of working for all Coloradans. Please vote for the candidate who will see you, hear you and fight for the things that matter to you, and elect Diane Mitsch Bush to Congress.
