Our congressional representative Scott Tipton voted to enact TrumpCare and repeal ObamaCare.
Pundits said many representatives voted for the bill for fear of having a well-funded primary election opponent next time around if they didn’t.
I assume that’s why Tipton voted his career ahead of his constituents.
TrumpCare has little to recommend it, and much to say against it. Every medical organization opposes it.
The Republicans in Congress were even afraid to have their own budget office score it out.
Last time, the impartial verdict was that 24 million people would lose coverage.
This time, impartial estimates say that 30 million would be on the outside looking in.
The only thing to do now is to tell Tipton that we’ll see him on election day in 2018.
Really, his poor strategy resulted in a lose-lose scenario.
If he voted no on TrumpCare, he’d lose out in the next GOP primary. But since he voted yes, he’ll likely lose out to a Democrat in the next general election.
I wonder what his next career path will be when his political career is over as of November 2018?
