A former Durangoan and Fort Lewis College graduate will take center stage on NBC’s new game show “Titan Games” on Thursday.
Matthew Welbourn, 28, is a contestant who will be subject to extreme tests of strength and endurance.
Welbourn moved to Durango in 2000 at the age of 10, and attended Miller Middle School and Durango High School. He recently moved to the Front Range.
Speaking with The Durango Herald in a previous interview, Welbourn said he couldn’t say what the outcome of his contest was, but he encouraged people to tune in. “It was just a crazy experience, especially from being a small-town guy then going into a situation like that where you’re competing on national television and in front of a live audience,” he said. “It was just a surreal experience.”
“Titan Games” will air at 7 p.m. on NBC.
