Our so-called president bragged for many months that he would shut down the government if he didn't get his way on funding for his border wall to keep out brown people.
He proclaimed it to the world about a week before Christmas during a temper-tantrum with Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. He'd be proud to take responsibility for the shutdown, he asserted.
Of course, a week later when the deadline came to fund around a fourth of the government, the petulant little boy had flip-flopped and claimed it was all the Dems' fault for not giving him what he wanted.
So 800,000 federal employees, including our local friends and neighbors, have become Donald Trump's economic hostages.
Will their landlords defer the rent check that's due at the end of the month? Will the bank defer their car payment? Does the grocery store give them credit when they need to buy food? How about keeping the lights and heat on?
Dear Leader asserted (with zero evidence, according to National Public Radio) that most of these people are Democrats, so HA!
He insisted the shutdown would continue until he gets what he wants, even though it's not clear what Himself will settle for.
And even though many people in the county illegally came here on visas and didn't leave.
He whined about spending Christmas by himself at the White House instead of his luxury Florida resort. Poor baby!
Now he tweets blame on Democrats for the problem he created. If we could shut down his Twitter access for the duration of his government shutdown, the situation probably would resolve very quickly.
