Trails 2000, Twin Buttes of Durango and community volunteers will conduct trail work from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at Twin Buttes trails, in anticipation for the first annual Bash at the Buttes event, scheduled Sept. 8, which will celebrate the dedication of Historic Tram Park to the city of Durango.

Trail-work crews will meet at the water tank in Twin Buttes. To get there: drive westbound on U.S. Highway 160; turn right at the Twin Buttes main entrance west of the Giant gas station; turn right at the bridge onto Tipple Avenue, following signs to Twin Buttes; turn right on Larkspur Avenue; turn right on Twin Buttes Avenue; take the first left; and continue up the hill to the parking lot below the water tank.

Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes or boots, long pants, shirt, sun hat, sunscreen and bring a water bottle and rain jacket. Trails 2000 will provide all tools, instruction, water and snacks.
