At 6 p.m. Tuesday, La Plata County Treasurer Allison Aichele will present at the Rotary Club of Durango about the annual tax lien sale being held on Nov. 4.
This is an investment opportunity for community members to loan tax dollars to delinquent taxpayers while earning 9% interest on these funds. Tax lien sales are a way to ensure the local taxing authorities make their annual revenue projections.
Aichele has been the La Plata County Treasurer for seven years.
