Trump administration designates Antifa a “terrorist organization”

Dear Mr. Trump,

I am Antifa. I come by it honestly. My father was Antifa as well. In fact, he was violently anti-fascist. For a portion of his young life, his job was to kill fascists and Nazis, working alongside 10,000 of his comrades in the 10th Mountain Division. They saw the full cost of fascism, losing nearly 1,000 men now buried in Italy. That does not include the thousands wounded and maimed, like Sen. Bob Dole, who spent years recovering from his injuries.

The 10th Mountain Division, working closely with the original Antifa, the Italian partisans, spearheaded the Eighth Army in breaking the German lines, destroying the Italian fascists, driving the Nazi army from Italy, and forcing their surrender a week before other German forces.

My dad passed away a number of years ago, for which I am grateful. He didn’t have to see the country, for which he sacrificed so much, devolve into the political system he worked so hard to destroy. We in Colorado can see firsthand the horrendous cost of fascism by visiting the 10th Mountain Memorial on top of Tennessee Pass, where the names of all those who fell are engraved. I am very thankful my father’s name is not on that memorial, and I am very proud of his Antifa work.
