Thank you, President Trump. Your vision of an isolationist nation has come to fruition. That’s right – nobody anywhere in the world wants to visit America anymore. The only reason someone from another country comes here now is because they have to. Yes, you’ve made America undesirable to the rest of the world, something I thought I would never experience.
And people, I hope you realize that we are only seeing the tip of Trump’s inflation iceberg. Nobody knows where we stand with his whack-a-mole approach to tariffs, but the real crusher is going to be labor. Now that Deport’em Don has carried out his cruel attack on our migrant labor force, who’s going to do the job? We’ve already seen some of the effects – Florida tomato farmers plowing crops under or letting them rot in the fields, to cite one example.
Now does anyone believe any of that (cheap) migrant labor is coming back? Would you? We know Americans aren’t going to do any of the work that migrants used to, even for much more money. In fact, isn’t it time the government realize that half of America doesn’t want to work at all? I can envision a scenario where 3 to 4 million Mexicans stand on their side of the border saying, “Hey, Mister Trump, you want your economy back? It’s gonna cost you.” Who could blame them?
Except for maybe Ted Cruz – you know, the Canadian-born Mexican who hates immigrants. Since the Republicans pulled all the teeth out of the word hypocrisy and converted it to a badge of honor, Ted’s badge must be gigantic. Yee haw.
