Cloudy weather may be here to stay for the next couple of days.
Two small storms were expected to move through the region Monday night and Tuesday night, each bringing 1-2 inches of snow to the southern San Juan Mountains and a dusting in Durango.
“It will be affecting mainly the northern mountains in Colorado, but there will be some snow down south,” said Chris Cuoco, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Junction. “It will be a system that will have mostly northwest flow, so areas north of Red Mountain Pass will get the most snow out of this when we talk about Southwest Colorado.”
A similar storm is expected to arrive Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, he said. The National Weather Service posts an 80 percent chance of snow Monday night, a 60 percent chance of snow Tuesday dropping to a 30 percent chance of snow Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Cloud cover will help boost temperatures, with lows in the teens and highs in the mid-30s this week.
