The Durango Public Library Advisory Board and members of the community recently selected Lynne Hardy and Beverly Darmour as the 2017 Library Community Champions.
Darmour, who passed away in January, was a member of the Library Advisory Board from 1990 to 2005, served as chairwoman several times and was an emeritus member until the end of her life. Hardy has volunteered at the library for 18 years and is an integral member of the library team.
They will be recognized at two events:
Sept. 19, Durango City Council meeting, 6:30 p.m. City Hall, 949 East Second Ave.Sept. 27, Library Community Champion celebration and open reception, 3:30 p.m., Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.The events are free and open to all.
