U.S. 550/160 work halts

Colorado Department of Transportation crews temporarily halted work Wednesday afternoon at the DoubleTree Hotel intersection and related streets in anticipation of Fourth of July traffic.

Work will resume Monday. From Monday through Friday, July 11, these restrictions will apply:

On Roosa Avenue, the northbound lane will be closed. There will be no left turns from eastbound U.S. Highway 160 on to Roosa.

On U.S. Highway 160 west, there will be lane closures and or lane shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for through lanes in both directions west of the Highway 550/160 intersection

On Camino del Rio south of College Drive, there will be lane closures and or lane shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the week.

CDOT advises drivers to drive carefully in the work zone and obey the 35-mph speed limit.

The best way to stay abreast of the project is to visit www.coloradodot.info and click the green cellphone icon in the upper right corner of the page. Enter your information and choose US 160/550 Durango under the projects list.
