Work on U.S. Highway 550 on Red Mountain Pass north of Durango will stop Wednesday through Sunday for the holiday weekend. Motorists will be able to drive the highway without interruption.
Work will resume Monday with periodic closures of up to 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday though Friday.
On Tuesday, Nov. 27, the highway will be closed to northbound and southbound traffic from 7 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. There will be a one-hour window from noon to 1 p.m. for motorists to travel through the work zone.
The work is scheduled to be completed by Dec. 1, weather permitting.
